Salted butter in my cookies

I'm out of unsalted butter and I have some cookies I promised to bring to a friend half prepped. The recipe calls for additional salt so maybe i could leave it out and go with salted butter. They are chocolate chip and I don't mind a bit of salt in my cookie. Will it work?

Honestly, I use salted butter in my cookies all the time. You have the right idea, just add a bit less salt, if anything the extra hit of salt will make them better.

Of course it works, you just have to be careful as to which brand of salted butter you're using. Some have fleur de sel added as an outer layer which would considerably change the flavor

I wouldn't worry about it. Like Mr_Vittles said.
