ABOUT THIS COOK:

My name is Brenna. I live in Greenpoint, that's in Brooklyn. I've been a pastry in New York for over a year: cooking fancy, but mostly throwback, desserts all day. I am addicted to greens and sprouts. I like winter and twist-cones and summer and hot tomato soup. 25 years ago I was born under a full moon in Utah, where they like Jell-O and Campbell's Soups and frozen hash browns. I like those things, too.

    Lychees are a wonder of nature--their texture and taste is both divine and weird.

  • What do you cook when home alone?
    I love a good slice of toast, a mix-up salad, and vegetarian stuff.

  • Your most treasured kitchen possession:
    The tiny, baby offset spatula.

  • The ideal number of guests for a dinner party is:
    The more, the merrier.
