What is the strangest food you have ever eaten?
A large platter piled with roast tiny songbirds - with their heads and feet on, in the southwestern part of France when I was 16
What do you cook when home alone?
I am never home alone but if I were I would brown a slice of naturally leavened bread in butter and olive oil and put thinly sliced prosciutto, roast asparagus and a gently poached egg on top. I might dab a little aioli on each bite.

Sharp knife, microplane grater, mortar and pestle

6 yields the best conversation. Although I have no problem cooking for 20.
