Fany Gerson is owner of La Newyorkina and author of My Sweet Mexico: Recipes for Authentic Pastries, Breads, Candies, Beverages, and Frozen Treats (Ten Speed Press, September, 2010) followed by Paletas & Aguas Frescas (July 2011). Born and raised in Mexico, Fany attended the Culinary Institute of America and has worked in kitchens worldwide, including Michelin-three-star Akelare in Spain, Eleven Madison Park, and Rosa Mexicano in New York, where she developed their acclaimed modern Mexican desserts.
