ABOUT THIS COOK:

I'm from the Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant School of Cooking. When all else fails I cook. So much better than talking. I worked for a decade at the New Yorker magazine, where I covered theatre and edited Tables for Two. For some reason, I moved to Chicago to work at the Chicago Tribune, where I was a features reporter and a food writer until they laid me off in March. So, basically, I moved to Chicago to be laid off by a bankrupt newspaper. I recently moved to Charleston, SC, where I am working on my book, "The Comfort Food Diaries," to be published by Simon and Schuster's Free Press. After I finish writing it next year. . .
