My name is Tori Avey. I'm a culinary anthropologist, Jewish convert, and my family's resident chef. My blog explores the history of Jewish cuisine, as well as other historical culinary topics. I also post free recipes, including the history behind the dish and step-by-step photos. I believe that yesterday's food can inspire us in the kitchen today. Cooking is much more fun when you know the history behind the dish! Check out my Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/theshiksa
