ABOUT THIS COOK:

In architecture school, I learned the phrase (and philosophy) of "would your grandmother understand it?". An architect can talk all he wants about a project, but if your grandmother does not understand it, then all the fancy concepts may be for naught. I take a similar approach to food. Talk all you want, but if it doesn't taste good and is not nutritious, and it is not shared with good company then who cares?

  • What is the strangest food you have ever eaten?
Eggs. Eggs are really strange and complex and miraculous when you think about them. And if you really think about, they are kinda gross.

  • What do you cook when home alone?
Cheese on toast: grilled cheese, croque monsieur, quesadillas...

  • Your most treasured kitchen possession:
    Knives

  • The ideal number of guests for a dinner party is:
    7
