I'm a writer who's passionate about food and so, like many others, decided to write a blog. More specifically, Almost Slowfood is about doing my best to cook tasty local, organic and unprocessed meals even though I don't often have the time or the money what with work, chasing after my toddler, being a halfway decent wife, etc. My posts revolve around personal stories on why I'm cooking a particular dish, the recipe and then how much it costs per serving. I hope to inspire readers who are interested in slow food and organics, but who may think it's out of their reach given time, money and know-how. It's called Almost Slowfood because while I am doing my best to educate, I'm not preaching and there are days when even I reach for Annie's Mac n' Cheese. I'm also a freelance writer working on a range of topics, but hoping to focus even more on food. I've written for Cooking Light, Body+Soul and Parenting magazines. Where am I going? Hopefully my writing will help inspire readers and empower them to cook delicious local meals that are responsible and wallet-conscious.
