ABOUT THIS COOK:

I'm spending this summer making & selling popsicles in New York City, but what I really like is traveling around, eating delicious food with good people. In order to feed the yen, I've worked as a cookbook ghostwriter, bike guide, bookseller, cheesemonger and writer.

  • What is the strangest food you have ever eaten?
    kymyz, fermented mare's milk

  • What do you cook when home alone?
stewed greens, sourdough or just milk poured over cereal (maybe my favorite)

  • Your most treasured kitchen possession:
a vintage glass rolling pin I found in Bristol and a red plastic Japanese sesame-seed grinder

  • The ideal number of guests for a dinner party is:
6, that's all the chairs we have in the apartment
