Makes enough icing for a 9 inch cake

2 cups powdered sugar Ask a question about this ingredient

4 tablespoons salted butter Ask a question about this ingredient

1/4 teaspoon coarse sea salt Ask a question about this ingredient

1 tablespoon vanilla bean paste (or vanilla extract) Ask a question about this ingredient

4 tablespoons milk (I used almond milk, regular will work too) Ask a question about this ingredient

  1. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat for about 5 minutes, until browned (Butter will foam at first; wait until melted butter turns deep brown)

  2. Beat the 2 cups of powdered sugar with melted butter with an electric mixer (mixture will be thick)

  3. Beat in the salt, vanilla, and milk until smooth and creamy. Pour over desired item and spread quickly.
