Melt chocolate over metal bowl set over saucepan of barely simmering water or double boiler.
Ask a question about this stepRemove from heat. Dip each strawberry into warm chocolate. Place on baking sheet lined with buttered parchment.
Ask a question about this stepIf in a hurry, you can place in freezer for about 5 minutes to harden chocolate (don’t leave too long though – don’t want to freeze strawberries!) Otherwise, just let sit out until chocolate has hardened. Arrange on plate or platter and serve.
Ask a question about this stepamaretto...great idea! I'll have to try that....

There is a little candy store downtown here in Hot Springs that makes these things -- with strawberries that are nearly as big as your fist and should have no taste at all -- but do. Lord, but I love them.
They're also good to inject with a little amaretto before you dip them. :)
