I plan on making them with Michigan blueberries (just got fresh from there). They look wonderful :)

I was born and raised in Maine and have great memories of growing up there. What Mainer hasn't had blueberry pie for breakfast?

I live down under now and can only get the big berries but when you're homesick, any blueberry will do.

YUM! My Mom in Law makes something very similar to this...although I don't remember all the proportions. They get gobbled up immediately. Lovely photo, is that in Italy?

Yes, that's Sienna. I had a photo from Maine, but uploaded the wrong one here, and gave up - technology having won, yet again.

Lovely. Maine and blueberries go hand in hand.

Don't they? I can almost hear the loons on the lake when I smell these muffins.

Can I just say...LOVE?

Yes! With a schmeer of good butter!

Yes, they are quite tart. But I usually make these with the high bush blueberries we get here, as those wild ones are just impossible to find outside of Maine.

Aren't wild Maine blueberries kind of small, as well as tart? We spent lots of summer vacations in Rockland, back when lobster was cheap...

this sounds wonderful. I get Wyman's frozen wild Maine blueberries at Costco year-round. They're fabulous, and I think they'd work great in this recipe.

Thanks, MrsLarkin. I've seen them there, but hesitated.

I'll have to check those out next time I am at Cosco....
