Serves 4 - 6

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees

  2. Lightly spray a tart pan with non-stick spray (or use a non-stick pan), drape the puff pastry dough over the tart pan and gently push it down and into the sides of the pan.

  3. Combine the meat, veggies, and seasonings in a bowl and toss to coat.

  4. Pile the meat and veggie mixture into the puff pastry dough in the tart pan and dot with the cold, cubed butter.

  5. Fold the puff pastry dough up around the filling and brush the top edges with milk.

  6. Place the tart pan in the oven on a cookie sheet and bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes, then reduce the heat to 350 degrees and bake for another 45 minutes, or until veggies are tender.

  7. Remove the tart from the oven and cool for 10 - 15 minutes before serving. Enjoy!

My parents are from the UP, so I love me some pasties! Next time I make them I'm going add some allspice - great tip!
