New Paltz, NY
holistic nutrition writer/food blogger

I grew up in a restaurant family (my parents owned the now closed Quilted Giraffe in NYC) and I've always loved to cook. My interest in the connection between food and health led me to pursue a graduate degree in naturopathic medicine. I enjoy writing and I have both a healthy diet/green living website and a healthy recipes blog. I spent many years as a vegetarian but nowadays I enjoy eating just about everything. I have a large organic garden and grow lots of my own vegetables; I try to buy everything else as locally/seasonally/organically as possible. I live in upstate New York and I have two kids, two dogs, four cats, 6 chickens, 3 turtles and a fish. I'm learning how to knit and I have a black belt in karate.
