The Internet Cooking Princess

The Big D
Marketing Strategist

When it comes to cooking, I tend to make like old school rap and just freestyle. No training or culinary pedigree - just going with my gut. (Which consistently tells me to add more cream and butter.) I began blogging about my recipes not long after that under a pretty underwhelming URL (that shall remain nameless) until, that is, my boyfriend jokingly deemed me The Internet Cooking Princess. With a wicked name like that, I had to let it stick. Now, I look forward to sharing my meal planning tactics, recipes, and other random musings of the chow variety every week.

  • What is the strangest food you have ever eaten?
Pig ear cooked Hunan style...which was not disclosed until after I'd eaten. Sooo not tasty.
  • What do you cook when home alone?
Vegetable lentil soup so I can secretly pretend to be vegan.
  • Your most treasured kitchen possession:
My immersion blender and French oven!
  • Your ideal meal:
Meat + potatoes + cheese + wine = food nirvana.
  • Something you'd like a chance to eat or cook:
I'd love to make bread...but I can't bake to save my life.
  • The number of bottles of wine you own:
It fluctuates based on the type of week I'm having. (Is that bad?)
  • The ideal number of guests for a dinner party is:
    Six is the magic number.
  • Kitchen pet peeve:
People looking over my shoulder - stop that!
  • Your favorite cookbook:
I just bought Mastering the Art of French Cooking (at a total bargain) and am completely fascinated by it. But, man does Julia add a lot of steps in her recipes!
