ABOUT THIS COOK:

Hi, I am a New Yorker but I have been living in Italy for a really long time. I work, I'm a mother of two and am married to a great Italian guy. I'm half German and I have been lucky enough to have been exposed to many cultures and kinds of food from an early age. I love everything about food. I admit I started out as a very picky eater but these days I am willing to try anything and there are very (and I mean very) few things I do not like. I am not a chef, I am not a food expert and I am not even a great cook. I am learning as I go along. But I love food and anything related with a passion and I want my kids to learn to love food as much as my husband and I do. I also want them to learn to respect the environment and to be sustainable eaters. The rule in our home is to try everything at least once, to eat as many local and seasonal ingredients as possible and to reduce waste to the minimum. I have been blogging about food for over a year now. A full time job in finance and raising a pre-schooler and a toddler leave very little time for playing around in the kitchen. But I believe there is always time to prepare something fast, simple yet tasty for the ones you love!

  • What is the strangest food you have ever eaten?
Most foods generally considered strange don't seem strange to me, I'll eat anything. But I haven't tasted insects yet.

  • What do you cook when home alone?
Usually I'll make a salad or a pasta

  • Your most treasured kitchen possession:
My iphone to look up recipes or get advice

  • The ideal number of guests for a dinner party is:
    Six to eight
