ABOUT THIS COOK:

I've been cooking since I was about 8 years old, and became our family's cook when I was 10. Now I'm on the cusp of 30 and, after several frustrating attempts at conventional university study, and after dabbling in cake decorating and catering, have finally taken the plunge, moved out-of-state, and am impatiently waiting to start culinary school in a few weeks. I love to teach and develop curriculum, and I have a real soft spot for people who are afraid of their kitchens, who would cook and provide solid meals for their families if they only had someone to teach them how. I'm allergic to apples, I hate chocolate, and I would spend all day long eating cheese if I could just find someone to pay me to do it.

  • What is the strangest food you have ever eaten?
    Grubs and goat. Not together.

  • What do you cook when home alone?
Whatever I'm in the mood for. I love trying new, off-the-wall stuff.

  • Your most treasured kitchen possession:
My grandma's manual pasta machine and my Kitchenaid food processor.

  • The ideal number of guests for a dinner party is:
    8-10
