ABOUT THIS COOK:

Hankering for: blue-cheese-veined semi-soft-rind cheese, earthy wines, any kind of wintry roast, medium-rare New York strip, oysters, escargot, shallots, garlicky greens. Yes, pretty much all things savory. I probably wouldn't notice if chocolate went away forever. I'm pie-and-tart. Even better: a big ole cheese plate, with a dollop of dark honey and toasted nuts on the side. Life-changing restaurant experience: NOMA. Happiest: Eating, cooking or thinking about eating and cooking, with family and friends. Or reading books about eating and cooking.
