ABOUT THIS COOK:

I am fortunate to have been raised by an early gourmet who taught herself how to cook from Julia Child's books in the 1960s. I am happy when in the kitchen, and happiest when I have lots of company to enjoy over dinner after a long day in the kitchen.

    Bear? Not recommended.

  • What do you cook when home alone?
    Pasta with my grandmother's Ligurian chicken sugo. And baked treats.

  • Your most treasured kitchen possession:
    Tongs. The cheap kind, not the fancy ones that lock and have special coatings.

  • The ideal number of guests for a dinner party is:
    Eight
