I learned to cook when I was a young girl growing up in Brazil. It started out of necessity more than curiosity. After my parents divorced, I moved with my mom who worked full time. I was responsible for cooking our meals, cleaning the bathroom and shopping at our local NON certified street farmer's market on Thursdays before school. Soon I realize that the kitchen was the place where I was free to create. Cooking became an adventure and a challenge that I looked forward to tackle everyday. It all started when I was 13 and I haven't stopped cooking since then.
