I love all aspects of food from soil to stomach, from gardening/farming to cooking and of course eating. I am a student nearly finished with a master's degree focused on sustainable food and agriculture policy, and I am most committed to fostering interconnected local and regional food systems beyond traditional forms. Everyone who eats is part of the food system, and I am especially interested in ways to engage children in this system through education. I have been the main cook for my family for years, and one of my greatest pleasures is sharing food I've made with people I love. But I also love experimenting with food on my own, especially with ingredients and flavors that the rest of my family aren't as interested in. Though I'm not intimidated by complicated recipes - when I adapt existing recipes I'm most likely to add steps/ingredients - I also love simple preparations that highlight inherent qualities of the best ingredients when I can get them locally and seasonally. Above all, I don’t think life would be worth living without great food (especially cheese!)
