Sasha gives us a wine geography lesson we won't soon forget, evoking the dark and brawny Clive Owen and the smoother, friendlier George Clooney to explain the difference between the wines of the two subregions of the Rhône River Valley. The wine she recommends this week to match with Your Best Spring Lamb falls squarely in the manly camp of Clive -- an intense, meaty Jean-Louis Chave Côtes du Rhône "Mon Coeur" that won't wilt against the bold flavor of lamb.

Thank you so much, shayma! I'm blushing!
I'll have to check that one out! We had a lovely bottle with our lamb on Monday night, a bottle of 2008 Domaine de la Janasse Cotes du Rhone recommended by the fine folks at BRIX in Boston.
Great call -- I love Dom de la Janasse. They also make a Chateauneuf du Pape if you're feeling spendy.
Lamb. Cotes Du Rhone. WHAT could be better???
Um, nothing?
