We'll be hosting our second Sunday Supper this Sunday, March 28th at 7pm ET! We had so much fun at the last one so we hope you all can join us. This time, we're trying something new: we'll be cooking the finalist recipes from the Your Best Risotto contest: Risotto Rosso by Abra Bennett and Preserved Lemon and Spring Vegetable Risotto with Grilled Pernod Shrimp by The Dog's Breakfast. Amanda and Merrill will each cook one of the two and everyone else can choose their favorite as well.
For those who missed it the first time around, food52's Sunday Supper is an online cooking event hosted on the terrific site Hot Potato. We basically throw a dinner party together online, with each of us in our own kitchen, sharing notes and photos as we cook. For more details on the first Sunday Supper, click here. And for a transcript of the last event, click here (note that Hot Potato has been making lots of updates so some of the photos might not show up).
So, sign up for an account on Hot Potato and when Sunday evening rolls around, go here to sign in to the event, which is called Risotto Sunday Supper.

thanks, guys! That was fun!
I bought everything needed to make the recipe but think I need to skip out on the group cooking tonight. I had an exhausting weekend (got my black belt in karate!) and just can't get it together to cook tonight.
So I will have a little Pernod and pop in to Hot Potato see how it's going for everyone, but I'll plan to cook the recipe later in the week.
black belt? Wow!! Congratulations!
Sadly I have been banned from making risotto for 6 months by the family, so they say. They did really like the sausage makers risotto though. So sadly we will be eating something differant tonight. I plan on tuning in for the play by play though.
Difficult to decide which risotto to make - do I say a last farewell to winter with the Risotto Rosso and all it's earthy flavors or do I usher in spring with a burst of green and sunny lemon??? By the way, love the two risotto videos with that darling, sexy man! It was cool to see you gals interact with a guest in the kitchen - you were charming, as always! Amanda, how did I know you would have an "intellectual" spoon? p.s. LOVE the idea of music playlists! p.p.s. Still think you need microphones for better sound.
So do I...! (Smarty pants.)

So sorry we are having a supper party here Sunday evening and I will have to miss the fun. Be sure to pass along the fun news after the dishes are washed - :)
Oh, how fun! I'm definitely going to try to participate in this!=)
That's a great idea! This was so much fun the last time. And to get in the mood (for risotto and/or Italian desserts), I put this playlist together: http://www.playlist.com/playlist/19513487627
That is so cool!

added about 1 year agoFun! It would be great if we could get people to create playlists for different themes each week. Thanks for doing this, mrsl!
You're welcome! I think that’d be really funny and challenging! Some weeks would be easier - last week we could’ve done the Bat Out of Hell anthology. But for lamb and macaroons - I don't know what.
Lamb and macaroons - the music from Hotel Costes maybe???
I'm going to try to participate in this Sunday Supper but, mrslarkin, you have come up with an invaluable inspiration for me. Thank you! My life revolves around my iPod, my ride to work, at work, at my sons basketball games, etc....this playlist is def going to be a great inspiration and I hope that this new tradition continues....yay =)
You're so welcome, foodiegurl10!! And aargersi, I say a big YES on the Hotel Costes music. Had no clue what that was, but after amazoning it, and creating a Pandora station, it definitely fits the bill. Very funky and mellow.
