Planning another SF Bay Area event for mid to late April (cooks only for this one, too) . . . . please contact me if interested. You can do that by clicking on "Send Me a Message" near the top of my profile. If that doesn't work, please post a comment right here to that effect and we'll figure out a way to connect . . . . Thanks! ;o)
Sent you a message yesterday, don't know whether that worked so back here to try to connect. Please keep me informed about the next SF Bay area potluck. Will keep checking this site for info. Thanks...
I'm from Riverside, and would be willing to join in SD or even somewhere a little closer? sounds like a ball! I just hosted a Wine and Food Pairing for a new group I belong to on Saturday night. With most of them, you have to start somewhere, but they are anxious to have another one!
Chicago, yes! Communaltable, I live in North Center, right near you, and evey, I'm a former, longtime Hyde Parker. Definitely interested in a potluck, any format OK. Let's be in touch.
I am so bummed that I missed the SF area potluck. Antonia James was the instigator and she should write the blueprint that she used for getting everyone organized.
And we were bummed we didn't get a chance to meet you! So we'll have to do another one really soon with your wine tasting/pairing idea. I do a party like that every Christmas and it's always a lot of fun for everyone. Also, my 'send a message' doesn't work, but Antonia, TasteFood, monkeymom, and others that were at this one have my email address for planning the next fun one!
You know, my 'send a message' doesn't seem to work either. I am definitely in on future get-togethers and am looking forward to meeting my local food52 members.
Looks like there is a good sized group - if you all want to send me a Food52 message w/email addresses, I'll get a group email going around so we can find a date.
Can I bring napkins? Wine? Not the venerable cook like many posters, I bring enthusiasm & make serious scrambled eggs. Metro accessible would be much appreciated!
I'm not on the Metro, so not a good choice as location, but so so willing/interested in putting together something. Only one other person emailed me. If you want to try to get together please send a food52 message and I'll be more than happy to coordinate emails to find a date/organize.
Super fun to see the photos and comments from the party -- we hope some more food52 potlucks will transpire, and if they do, let us know and we can post more photo slideshows!
Any SF Bay Area members who have not previously contacted me, and who are interested in future gatherings, please send me a note via the "Send a Message" link in my profile. (I've noticed quite a few new members since we started planning our recent dinner.) We're discussing a variety of formats, e.g., smaller groups with menus planned collaboratively, with each cook bringing a particular dish, to create a spectacular meal that an individual could not easily pull off alone. Whatever the event, all will be great fun, with terrific food! ;o)
To answer your question, aargersi, yes, it does. I would receive an email at the account used to set up my Food52 profile, which message would originate from "no-reply at Food52." To respond, I then go through your profile, setting up a new message. ;o)
To send a message, go to the profile of the person to whom you wish to send it. Above the personal data, you'll see a little green link, under "Contests" and "Blogs" at the top, that says, "Send me a messge." Click on that, and a little box will open. The rest is easy!! ;o)
As a heads up: be aware that not everyones "send a message" works. Mine, for example, doesn't send me an email and when i let the F52 folks know, they said I'm not alone and they're working on this. So when I contacted Antonia I was interested, I sent her my email address so we could be in contact. So if you don't hear back from some people that you reach out to with this link, it could be they didn't get the email, so posting stuff on it here is a good idea to make sure folks know about it.
I am sooo sad that I was not able to participate in this get together...I was in Florida selling wine. I will be home all summer if the group wants to do another event...perhaps food and wine pairing (I can provide Cab, Cab franc, syrah, merlot, and chardonnay)
I live on the northside of the city in Lincoln Square and super close to the Metra. I do think it goes to/from Milwaukee, Jennifer Ann. There has to be more of you Chicago foodies around?
Really liked it, though in the interest of full disclosure, I'm partial to Amontillados. This is a bit richer than many, with great depth of flavor. Such a good value, too, at that price point.
If we do one down here and tell you what we are making will you do our pairings too? OR - fly down and shop with us? ps our may be poolside in the late spring ... tempted? :-)
Yes, there are. Are you volunteering to host? ;-)
We have to organize something. It would be great to meet fellow NY-ers face to face.
Of course, there's also the April "Food Bloggers Bake Sale" event coming up, which has found a home at the Brooklyn Flea... more info on that to come, but I'm sure some of us will meet there as well.
Still, nothing like potluck in someone's home, with some wine or sangria or something.
I know. It's amazing to me even after living here for over 20 years as a New England transplant. We can thank the farms in Watsonville (Monterey County) for these. Full disclosure: they're not quite as juicy and sweet as the ones we'll be getting in late April if that makes this a little easier. But I just couldn't resist when I saw them....

Hi, I replied to you "send me a message" Did you get it? It seems that for some people this feature does't work....wondering if mine works???
I would gladly host a Denver/Boulder potluck. I love the idea!

What about New York City....I live in the Wet Village
Hi Norma, I've started organizing a Central Park picnic potluck, so send me your email.
I'd be happy to host a Houston area pot luck for the Food52 foodie crowd. (We're on the NW side, only a little over 2 hours for the Austin folks.)
And I'm just soooo bummed that I had to be out of town & miss the potluck. Boo. Can't wait for the next one.

How fun! I want one in San Diego!

Any D.C. 52ers out there that want in on what looks like a great time? Kudos to the SF crew that started such a great idea!
You bet. I'm in DC, in Chevy Chase. Happy to host, tho I'm not near a Metro.
My sister and I are in VA. Alexandria and Fairfax -- we would love to join you in a DC Potluck!
Please keep me informed. Would love to join if I can manage to take the time out.Cheers!
Would love to do a food 52 potluck! I'm in DC too, near foggy bottom. Keep me posted:)
I am in central PA and not sure that there are others in this area. I'd love to make the drive to DC to attend if you'll have me.

wow looks like fun and the food looks beautiful, i am so hungry now after looking at those pics!
I'll start organizing the NY picnic. If anyone is interested in joining, please send me a message.
I'd love to join/help. I am on the south shore of Long Island. A picnic sounds great after all this rain!
it looks like a wonderful evening. what a spread, and thanks for sharing the photos w us.

Does that feature then send you an email? I have not used it before ..

OK so I went to my profile and I don't have a place to enter an email, but I get emails so Food52 has it ... I am such a rube sometimes :-)

wow wow! this looks wonderful! any one up for one in boston?
I'd definitely travel up from Providence for one...
I am sooo sad that I was not able to participate in this get together...I was in Florida selling wine. I will be home all summer if the group wants to do another event...perhaps food and wine pairing (I can provide Cab, Cab franc, syrah, merlot, and chardonnay)
Count me in!
Sign me up for this one too! That sounds like a lot of fun. Maybe in June?
Now that is such a good idea. I would be willing to host a Chicago evening. Anyone else interested?
I live on the northside of the city in Lincoln Square and super close to the Metra. I do think it goes to/from Milwaukee, Jennifer Ann. There has to be more of you Chicago foodies around?
Definitely! I am only a short train ride away.
I'm living in Hyde Park and would definitely be interested! Can't believe that there aren't more people from Chicago.
I'm in Chicago (LSq, too!) and I know of at least two other food52 folks who live near by! Let me know if there's a Chicago potluck!
Karen D is in fact a member of Food52. Her "handle" is Karen's Kitchen. And we're hoping she'll post her recipe for the pine nut gremolata!
Kristen is the Senior Editor of food52.
added about 1 year agoThanks for letting us know, TasteFood. We've updated the slideshow and are anxiously awaiting the gremolata recipe!
So glad the sherry went over well! And am so inspired by your feast.
Thank you for showing this. We had such a nice time, and are already talking about our next get together!
What did you guys think of the sherry?
Really liked it, though in the interest of full disclosure, I'm partial to Amontillados. This is a bit richer than many, with great depth of flavor. Such a good value, too, at that price point.
It was lovely: raisin-y and dry. It went very well with cheese and dessert. I bet it would go well with a platter of Spanish jamon, too!
What fabulous, delicious fun! I'm always up for an NYC event if anyone else is...
Definitely! This looks great. I am happy to do wine pairings!
If we do one down here and tell you what we are making will you do our pairings too? OR - fly down and shop with us? ps our may be poolside in the late spring ... tempted? :-)
I'm in!
Picnic sounds great! And I'll host the next one for sure.
OK, any food52'ers in San Diego and environs? I will host...Fun gathering - thanks for sharing.
Be sure to take lots of pictures of your Meyer lemons trees!! How I wish...
I'm in Orange County, but I would totally drive down to SD for a Food52 gathering!
What fun! Looks like a great time, and lots of great food, was had by all.
A great idea! I know there are enough NYers on here for their potluck, too.
Yes, there are. Are you volunteering to host? ;-)

Agree! I wish I could host, but alas, my apartment is way to small! Any nyc'ers wanna host?
Maybe a picnic in the park since most of us may have way too tiny apartments? Also, Thanks A.C. for mentioning the Bake Sale! xogabriela
How fun! The food looks fabulous!
How about Long Island? (And aargersi, I have family in Austin. If you do an Austin potluck, let me know. I just might show up!)
I will for sure! I am already mulling over a plan :-)
I'm in for Long Island!
It looks like such fun. What a fantastic spread. I'm green with envy. Fresh strawberries? Really? In March?
I hear you. So unfair!
Local berries available late Feb, as is asparagus - these are the things that keep me from being too homesick for your turf!
I know. It's amazing to me even after living here for over 20 years as a New England transplant. We can thank the farms in Watsonville (Monterey County) for these. This looks SO FUN and the food is absolutely gorgeous! OK we need and Austin one. Soon.
Not sure I could fly down (although I do LOVE Austin!) but would be happy to suggest some pairings!
OMG the food looks ridiculously great and the pictures are wonderful. Sounds like a great time was had by all!
I'm jealous. That looks like so much fun and pretty yummy to boot. Any Food52ers in South Florida? I'd love to have our own potluck!
Wow, you guys! That looked like so much fun. Thanks for sharing the pictures!
