Sauvignon Blanc is my favorite type of white wine. I'll be just a shot away from Chile tomorrow for a trip to Buenos Aires and will be getting my hands on all kinds of wine! Would love to know your recommendations - and thanks so much for posting these videos. I really feel like I'm learning a lot!
You're welcome! As for recommendations, tough to say: what's available locally in Buenos Aires isn't necessarily imported here. Ask the hotel concierge/local friend to recommend a nice wine shop in the area. Go in, introduce yourself, buy a bottle, and ask what some of their favorite wines are, and look out for those at restaurants you frequent. For reds, Malbecs are of course really good and widely available. For whites, you should definitely try Torrontes, which has a lot of the same sprightly, bright characteristics that Sauv Blanc does. I associate Sauvignon Blanc with spring, too and watching this makes me want it to come - and soon! I love the shout-out to Chilean wines, I've always liked them and this is a nice way to support the country when they need it most.
Yes, Chilean wines have really pure fruit flavors, thanks to the near-perfect grape growing climate. I love them for entertaining lots of people because the price is always right and the wines are really approachable. Looking forward to sipping some more of this Mapuche when I get home and willing the rest of the snow to melt!
